About the project

This project aims to reconstruct the history of European identity, increase students’ sense of belonging to the European Community, and promote European citizenship as active, respectful of diversity and based on common European values as well as on the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Through workshops with experts, focused on some important topics, and debates between peers the students who live in different contexts by territory, traditions and languages will be engaged in defining a common European identity made of a past to be rediscovered and a future to be planned together in the present time.
At the end of the study and training activities, students will be asked to research, recreate and tell stories about the evolution of European identity, current events and even the future they envision, in multiple languages using the podcasts tool.

Aims

- Know the roots and the process for the definition of the European identity and the affirmation of the principle of European citizenship;
- Identify and update the shared values ​​on which the European Union is founded;
- Know the challenges and goals of sustainable development and promote active citizenship;
- Knowing how to understand and evaluate different points of view on the same topic;
- Collaborate and participate with peers in a responsible and constructive way;
- Knowing how to search for sources and documents by evaluating their reliability;
- Enhance the ability of oral expression and public speaking in multiple languages;
- Knowing how to produce podcasts

Expected results

The project aims to improve the skills of European citizenship and guide students towards a greater awareness of what it means to be European citizens, committed to the realization of a common perspective of sustainable development. Furthermore, it aims to improve linguistic competence both in their mother tongue and in the foreign languages of study. The students from different contexts and countries will discuss with experts and with each other on common topics, collaborate in the study and creation of present, past and future stories about Europe, to be disseminated through podcasts.
